Squirrels

I put seeds on the sill of the patio doors and we seem to have 2 little ones and the bigger one with the split in his ear. This one was happy to be munching the seeds with me sticking a camera at him albeit on the other side of the glass.

You can really see how wispy his tail is.

I opened the patio doors and he was happy to tolerate me sticking my head and camera out. There is no zoom on this, he cant be more than a few feet away from me.

Then I noticed them running up and down the house wall !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Squirrel Antics

The squirrel wanted a snack. Yup, he was hanging on by his fingernails. I thought he would fall down, but he had no problems.




There was another one. He took a liking to what's in the pot.

The squirrel has taken a liking to the new gorund feeder



I opened the door and he didn't run away. He's a cheeky little thing.


But he eventually scampers off. A little bit haha

Baby Robin and friends

This baby likes to survey his patch from this stub. There are another two about, one of which is entering "puberty" as his red breast is starting to show.


I'd dumped a pile of nuts from the feeder so I sould put fresh ones in and it turned into a bit of a war zone between the squirrel, a magpie and some jackdaws. The squirrel decided they were his, but the magpie would run to him and nip his tail.


And what a fab shot of the jay I managed to take. You can really see his lovely colouring.

Young Squirrels

I had a mummy squirrel (not photographed as she's got a fat bum) and 2 ickle sqwils.
They were fighting over the nut feeder at one point.
Next to the nuts I have a spiral fatball feeder that nobody really likes and it's on a long piece of string which is just hooked over a branch. The squirrel would look down the string and go as if to attempt to get down it, but chicken out. All he had to do was unhook it and it was his.








What a lovely fluffy tail


Very acrobatic, but couldn't quite get it.


He had a nibble but didn't really like it. I think he just wanted a seed or something from it.




I know they are rats, but they are so gorgous to look at

The squirrels came visiting. Two of them.


They had a sniff around


They investigated the niger seed




And the fat cake


And the branston sandwiches



But didn't find anything of interest and ran off

Squirrel the poser

The squirrel visited my garden this morning. He was ever so cute and did a few poses for me.
I'm lucky in that even though there are about 3 squirrels in the area, they don't come and attack my feeders. In fact they come close to the house very rarely.

Galapagos Animals

This is a collection of the animals I saw on my trip to the Galapagos Islands.
It is amazing just how close they will come to you. And how photogenic they are. This lovely little sea lion pup wanted to be famous.

This pup was just a few days old

And what a delicious looking face on this one.

My favourite though is the marine iguanas. They are everywhere and you are practically tripping over them. I thing they have fantastic smiles.

They like to huddle in the sun to get warm enough to brave the sea.

And they like to hang out with Sally Lightfoot crabs

Who also like to pose. Everyone took this chappie's photo as he was just a big poser.

There didn't seem to be many insects about, but this locust was huge.


These are lava lizards, they are slightly different on each island. The female has a red neck, whilst the male are less colourful

The most famous animals on the Galapagos are the tortoises. They are different on each island. This chappie is the most famous of all - Lonesome George. Although he's not quite so lonesome any more. Apparently he has mated with 2 "cousins"

There was a park in the city of Guayaquil where the wildlife were happy to eat snacks off visitors. I think this squirrel is just showing off.

He will take food off anyone

Iguanas lived in the trees. You had to be careful not to stand underneath as when they poop, they really poop

You can get ever so close to them, even stroke them.
