Blue Tit

The blue tit decided he wanted some peanuts. First he checks there's no one looking.


Nope, no one over here either


I'll start munching now.


Hmm, I'm sure I'm not alone.

Tits

This is the bush that the tits love to flit about in. They really don't like coming closer to the house.


The coal tit will come and grab a seed and go and then come back again

Birds

I haven't seen the bullfinches often. And no babies (hopefully yet)


I have loads of cute blue tits who don't seem to mind me watching them eating nuts.


This blackie has such lovely colouring


And I have an occasional baby robin visitor who only visits the far corner of the garden

This blackbird had a mouth full of worms and wanted some suet pellets to go with it.

Wet

The birds are not enjoying this wet weather. This bunch have been sheltering for at least half an hour and some are still there. They are just sat there.



And the others are just sat in the tree. Note the little baby blue tit. He's jus scrunched into the corner.


He doesn't look a happy chappie at all.

More babies

After being away on holidays for 2 weeks I have come home to find my garden over run with baby starlings. There are at least 15 or so. And not much sign of any other birds about. They are so funny as they are big enough to be able to eat the food themselves, but if there's an adult about, they will folow him everywhere.

I thought I didn't have any good pics yesterday when I posted the nut hatch. Silly me, they were still on the camera. There were two on the bush at the same time.

MrJoo called me up to the landing window. There was a blue tit in the hole that next door had made for their new vent. I don't know if he was checking it out for a nest or just nicking some nest materials. There was another blue tit in a tree nearby keeping an eye out too.

New Year

I haven't posted a bit as I've been away for Christmas time and New Year, but I'd taken these pics just before Christmas and so here are a few

The gold crest is still a regular visitor

Blue tits are so fluffy

But not as fluffy as long tailed tits

The gold finches are regulars now. In fact I moved this feeder so next door could enjoy them while I was away.

The robin is still elusive. Mind you, I was out the back today stocking up and he flew up looked at me and flew off
