April Flowers

My bluebell "field" has bloomed.
There is one lone white one. I'm sure I'd not seen it before. All alone amongst the pinks and blues.



I have loads of blue ones


And some pinky/purply ones too


All amongst each other.


My tree blossomed. That was about when the rain came after weeks of lovely weather. It's always the same. As soon as it blossoms, the rain destroys it. I'd say it's less than a week that I get flowers looking half decent.

50th

Blimey, my 50th blog post.
So here is the weather forecast. I could have told anyone that it was about to rain. It's actually started about 2 days early this year. Because, without fail, every year when my tree blossoms and I think how lovely it will look, it absolutely tips down and wrecks the flowers so it never gets into it's prime. Voila - it's about to blossom - so here comes the rain.




Mousey paid another visit this morning. Although he really liked sitting on this stone, but more to the left most of the time so that he was hiding behind the twig from my camera.
He stared off the squirrel but the blackbirds were a bit boisterous for him and he'd pop down behind the stone and get back up when they'd gone.

Bee-fly

I'd gone down to the fat cake, to put it better for the little birds and I saw what I thought was a squished dead bee stuck on it. My first thought was that will make a tasty meal for a bird. It looked like his stinger was sticking int he air. I went to prod it off and noticed it move slightly, so I got it for a better look and realised it was some strange creature with a very pointy nose. Obviously I ran back to the house for my camera and managed to take a few nice closeups. I got him onto a stick. He was ever so "lethargic", then put him back on the fat when I'd finished photographing him. I looked up "bee with long nose" and found out that he was a bee-fly. Who are apparently very zippy!! This one certainly wasn't.

Today's topic is a very special request from a moo-mate
Whilst playing with my camera I tried to take closeup macro shots of the few flowers I have in my garden. Half of them I don't know what they are. I don't "do" flowers. If something wants to grow in my garden, then it grows until "destruction day" when we go out and raze everything to the ground.


We seem to have a bluebell field on the lower level.

This lovely orange flowered crocosmia just spreads everywhere. Beautiful, though (thanks Sheila)

Lavendar bush? tree? It has really grown in the last few years and looks lovely.

So there's a few of the lovely flowers in my garden. If I ever work out what they are I'll come back and edit this post.

So I was in Tescos tonight and the receptionist at work phoned me to tell me my delivery has arrived. Since I drive a very small car it was a choice of food, or bird food. I chose food, so I may finish early tomorrow to set things up.

Tomorrows food is: potato peelings, a sprinkling of orange pepper and mushroom stems, bread, crumpets, a bit of beef fat, beef edge and all mushed together with gravy. Yum.

I am struggling with line spacings on this. It's doing my head in, bah!
