Robin maturing

The young robin is shedding more feathers and will soon be all grown up. There are still another one or two baby robins about.

Robin going through puberty

A little bit fuzzy but you can certainly see his red breast coming through.

Starlings

I made a nice cake for the birds and the starlings were just fighting over it all the time. No one else got a look in. Just a tray full of chicken fat, some ripped up pita bread, seed and a bit of chicken. Leave it to set and put out.

It rained heavily yesterday and this perch was the best place to be

There were a few more baby sturkies about. These 2 followed dad around ...

Even onto the fat cake holder - a bit of a squeeze there, can't tell who's feathers are who's

Birds

I haven't seen the bullfinches often. And no babies (hopefully yet)

I have loads of cute blue tits who don't seem to mind me watching them eating nuts.

This blackie has such lovely colouring

And I have an occasional baby robin visitor who only visits the far corner of the garden

More baby birds

I have a few baby great tits in the garden. They are a softer, fluffier version of the adult (nicer colours too)

The baby goldfinches are thick. They sit in the tray of the niger feeder munching on the seeds in the tray. Except that I gave it a good clean the other day and therefore there's barely any seeds in the tray as they haven't sussed to get them from the holes. I felt so sorry for them I had to go down and put seeds in the tray.

I haven't seen the nut hatch about much recently, but he does have a junior.

And I thought all the sturkies had grown up, but there were a couple of babies nagging daddy for some food.

Baby GSW

There's a darned good chance that the fluffy long tailed tit at the top of my blog will have a replacement, hahaha.

Baby Goldfinch

Here's a baby goldfinch (not so good quality though)

This goldfinch doesn't look too impressed with the interloper

Baby Greenfinch

I snapped some baby greenfinches today.

Birds

Some birdie pics from recent

This blackbird had a mouth full of worms and wanted some suet pellets to go with it.

Sturkies Scrapping

They do like to scrap, lol

Wet

The birds are not enjoying this wet weather. This bunch have been sheltering for at least half an hour and some are still there. They are just sat there.

And the others are just sat in the tree. Note the little baby blue tit. He's jus scrunched into the corner.

He doesn't look a happy chappie at all.

Baby Sturky videos

More babies

After being away on holidays for 2 weeks I have come home to find my garden over run with baby starlings. There are at least 15 or so. And not much sign of any other birds about. They are so funny as they are big enough to be able to eat the food themselves, but if there's an adult about, they will folow him everywhere.

I did see a blue tit feeding 2 babies which is ever so cute
